Scottish rock legends Simple Minds have got some news for you! They have recently announced a huge North America headline tour, and it’s their largest live run across North America in forty years!! The Alive & Kicking Tour’s May outing is one of the most anticipated dates of the trek. On Tuesday 20th May 2025, Simple Minds will be taking over the stunning Toyota Pavilion at Concord, and it’s going to go down in history. Joining Simple Minds for this huge road trip are extra special guests Soft Cell and Modern English. If you didn’t already know, Soft Cell jumped onto the scene in the early eighties, when Marc Almond and Dave Ball brought synth-pop to a new, darker depth. The pair experimented with a minimal electronic sound and sang their hearts out about hedonism and heartbreak. Simple Minds have recently announced a MASSIVE headline tour, making its way across the US and Canada. In fact, it’s the group’s biggest live run across North American in forty years!! The Alive & Kicking Tour 2025 will land at premier arenas and amphitheaters across the continent, starting from May. The Scottish rock outfit will be joined by extra special guests Soft Cell and Modern English.
The tour begins on May 16 at the Cascades Bank Amphitheater in Ridgefield, WA, and will journey through major cities like LA, Austin, Phoenix, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Toronto, among others! The Alive & Kicking Tour 2025 will wind down on June 22 at the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, IN.
To get fans even more excited, Simple Minds has announced a newly remastered edition of Once Upon a Time. This version features fan favorites and classics like “Alive and Kicking” and “Sanctify Yourself.” It’s even thrown in a new addition: “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” brought to life in “The Breakfast Club” soundtrack.
“Hindsight is a glorious thing!” says Simple Minds frontrunner Jim Kerr. “Forty years on and it now feels right for Simple Minds to have Don’t You (Forget About Me) included in this classy new nine track edition of Once Upon A Time.”
Simple Minds jumped onto the scene from Glasgow, Scotland, in the late 70s. And fans couldn't get enough of their post-punk music! Led by Jim Kerr, the group cooked up their brand of music that is just as much raw as it is cinematic.
