Whiskey Myers is one hell of a group. These guys hail from Palestine, Texas, and they're tearing up the rock scene with their killer lineup: Jeff Hogg on drums, Tony Kent on percussion/drums, Cody Tate rocking lead and rhythm guitar plus vocals, John Jeffers shredding on lead guitar, slide guitar, and lap steel guitar, and Jamey Gleaves holding it down on bass.
Their latest jam, "Tornillo," dropped back in July 2022, adding to their impressive discography of six albums. And in case you haven't heard, they're hitting the road for a tour that's gonna blow your mind! They've got a bunch of rad openers lined up like The Red Clay Strays, Lukas Nelson & POTR, SOUTHALL, Whitey Morgan and the 78's, and more.
Apart from their headline engagements, Whiskey Myers tops a number of festival lineups and will open four shows directly for Hank Williams, Jr. On April 20, their own Wiggy Thump Festival, which benefits the local Anderson County Youth Livestock Association, will make its sixth year debut in Palestine, Texas, where Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Brent Cobb, and Joey Greer will also be performing.
One of Whiskey Myers' passion projects, Uncle Chicken's Sippin' Whiskey, was introduced last year. Through this venture, they were able to deepen their relationship with their fan base by offering a unique coffee line and producing collectible art for each event and record. Uncle Chicken's crosses boundaries and appeals to the soul of its broad fan base by breaking free from traditions and providing a unique libation that defies description. Uncle Chicken's Sippin' Whiskey is a mystery-filled Straight Bourbon Whiskey that has been blended with the wild essence of a legendary character from the Whiskey Myers world.
In music, blending genres is not always simple, but guess what? They have little trouble incorporating ballads and blues with the Southern country sound and rock.
