What a year it has been for music fans in the San Francisco Bay Area! The iconic concert destination, Toyota Pavilion at Concord filled up with grand spectacles that brought incredible life to the city. The venue hosted a plethora of showdowns that catered to different music tastes.
May
Springtime was a monumental hit as the month delivered massive extravaganzas. One of the most highly anticipated rap ragers, included 21 Savage’s The American Dream Tour. The Grammy winning rapper was in town to promote his record breaking third album The American Dream. The concert also featured a list of top caliber special guests like JID, Nardo Wick, and 21 Lil Harold. In the same month, another rap icon brought in his thrilling trek, The Better Off Alone Tour. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie presented one of the hottest hip-hop tours of the year. The “Drowning” star definitely turned up the venue with his monumental hits and crowd stirring titles.
Besides rappers, the month also brought in some iconic southern rock like Needtobreathe, who brought in their friends Judah and the Lion for the Caves World Tour. Lastly, the soul music took precedence as the Stone Soul Concert 25th Anniversary brought in fantastic artists like Charlie Wilson, Keith Sweat, Big Daddy Kane, Big Daddy Kane, and Montell Jordan.
June
Summer was banging. That’s not an overstatement but a fact especially when you have legends, icons, and cultural phenomena all in one season. Firstly, June brought in some staggeringly awesome names like the Doobie Brothers. The legendary Grammy winning band served a ton of classics.You betcha the setlist was hella expansive as the band delivered monumental hits, including “One Step Closer,” “Cannonball,” “Blackwater,” “It Keeps You Running,” and tons more.

To cut it short, it was a magical month for alternative, rock and metal heads. The spectacles brought in the biggest, most headbang worthy moments. From Megadeth’s highly sought after Destroy All Enemies Tour with Mudvayne, and All That Remains, to the historic co-headlining showdown of Stone Temple Pilots and Live, and Lainey Wilson’s high flying moments with Jackson Dean and Zach Top for the Country’s Cool Again Tour.
September
Before the folks of the San Francisco Bay Area said goodbye to summer, the season was sure to go out with a bang. September brought in dainty, massive talents, disco, a grand reunion, and a good ‘ol time with some bearded blues rockers. First, Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire joined forces to deliver a grand spankin ‘70s music overload. These two groups rose to prominence during the golden era of bell bottom pants and long hair. Although their music may be worlds apart, they were both a staple for most music fans at the time and they continue to bang it out on big stages across the world, including the Toyota Pavilion at Concord.
